The December 2020 Working Group meeting will start with leading ministers affirming their support to the 2030 Strategy. This high level opening will be a mix of a live panel discussion and pre-recorded ministerial statements endorsing the 2030 Strategy and emphasizing the importance of the CCAC’s work on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming over the next decade. They will also emphasize the importance of dealing with short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) in the context of the COVID-19 recovery, and incorporating SLCP mitigation into financial plans.
During the second part of the event the Co-Chairs will brief partners on the proposed transition plan, and associated decisions required by the Working Group to operationalize the plan starting now and throughout 2021.
Participation is by invitation only.
