Activities expected to be developed:
- Black Carbon inventory updated (time series 1990-2018): The outcome of this activity will be a more robust methodology for black carbon inventory and an alignment with the greenhouse gas inventory process. The process will strengthen the collaboration between the Climate Change and the Air Quality teams within the Ministry of Environment. Inclusion of further atmospheric pollutants (such as PM2.5) will also be considered as part of this process.
- Proposal of Black carbon component for the long term climate strategy of Chile: This work will involve coordination with the Air Quality Division to develop a long-term vision on air quality and the mitigation of clack carbon in Chile, an evaluation of the impacts for greenhouse gas reduction, and an analysis of the impacts of long-term policies for air quality, and include measures to mitigate black carbon as part of sectorial plans
